Winner of the Value Award for 2010 in the Hotel Category
Marv and I attended the Growing Rural Tourism conference in Camrose this past April. At the awards night we found out that the Rocking R Guest Ranch had been nominated as one of the four finalists for the “Growing Rural Tourism Champion Award.” We didn’t win the award but we were happy to be in the running with the Royal Tyrrell Museum, the Town of Vulcan and The Canadian Badlands.
The Town of Vulcan won the award this year and rightly so! After all, they put Vulcan on the map by attempting to host the premier for the new “Star Trek” movie. They were not on hand to receive their award as they were busy preparing for a visit from Leonard Nimoy aka “Spock.”
We had only been home from the conference for a week when a representative from WestJet called to say that the Rocking R Guest Ranch had won the “Value Award” in the hotel category. We were featured in the July edition of “Up Magazine” which is the magazine in the seat pockets on all WestJet flights!
Thanks to all of our guests that took the time to vote for The Rocking R Guest Ranch!
