Escape to the Rocking R Guest Ranch, where tranquility meets natural beauty. Our stunning retreat is perched on a ridge, offering sweeping views of green rolling pastures, Eagle Lake, and the majestic Rocky Mountains. Our two cozy cabins, the Bunkhouse and Hitch’n Post, are the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with loved ones.
Both cabins offer a warm and welcoming ambiance, with luxurious linens and down duvets, free Wi-Fi, and a TV with streaming services. Guests can also take advantage of our communal firepit area, parking, complimentary coffee and tea, and condiments for their meals. Free firewood is provided to keep you cozy on chilly nights, while robes and slippers are available seasonally for added comfort.
At the Ranch, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and greet our four-legged friends, including horses, a mini pony and donkey, and a small herd of Nigerian dwarf goats. They all love when guests come to say Hi, and it’s even better when they bring a freshly picked apple from one of the many apple trees growing on the ranch.

Heartland Experience

- A family style dinner served to your cabin.
- Detailed information for a self-guided walking tour, and driving tour of some the the Heartland filming locations.
- A total of 4 hours of horseback riding based on your level of riding experience.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1
- 4 pm check-in
- Enjoy dinner in your cabin – either cook for yourself, or order off our menu and have it delivered to your cabin.
- Begin your cowboy experience with a Horse Care Basics Session at the indoor arena.
Day 2
- Head to the High River visitor information centre where you will meet local Heartland experts who will share self-guided walking trails and driving tours where you can take in some popular Heartland filming locations.
- Enjoy lunch at Evelyn’s Memory Lane in High River or the Chuckwagon Cafe in Turner Valley.
- Continue your equestrian education in the evening with another hour of Indoor Horseback Riding at the indoor arena.
Day 3
- Enjoy breakfast served to your cabin.
- Head out to meet your equine guide for 2 hours of Horseback Riding on the Ranch.
- Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the Ranch, or discover something new in Strathmore!

We meet in Langdon Alberta, where guests will float the Lower Bow River from McKinnon Flats to Carseland.

White Water Rafting
Includes: wet suits, booties, gloves, life jackets, helmets, professional guides, wind jackets, fleece jackets, and paddles. Guests supply bathing suits or shorts, towels, change of clothing, sunscreen, bug repellent, water bottles, snacks, and lunch.
Riding Starts at 10 am.
Half Day Includes approximately 2.5 hours on the river. Total experience time is 4 hours.
Full Day includes approximately 4 hours on the river. Total experience time is 5-6 hours.
